This quality title, "Here Comes A Star" is right off an original print of a rare TV special / Promotional film made by Hanna Barbera Studios in 1963 to introduce and promote a new series that was in production at that time. The series was the now classic "The Magilla Gorilla Show" which premiered in January of 1963 and was sponsered by Ideal Toys.

In this remarkable film you get the unique opportunity to watch George Fenneman, (You Bet Your Life w/ Groucho Marx) tour the then new Hanna Barbara Animation Studio on Cahuenga Blvd in Hollywood, California with vivacious Bill Hanna & Joe Barbera. You'll see Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear and The Flintstones, (the then and current reigning stars of the H & B lot). You'll sit in a screening room and see a recently completed sequence from "Hey There, It's Yogi Bear". You'll watch tracks for the first Magilla Gorilla cartoon being recorded. You'll see real story artists, layout men, animators and inkers & painters putting together that first cartoon from scratch and you will then see the completed cartoon. You will also meet the other stars of the series, Punkin Puss and Mushmouse and Ricochet Rabbit and Droop-A-Long Coyote. All this through the eyes of Mr. Fenneman.

This unique film is a very rare glimpse into the inner working of the animated film industry of the early 1960s and a chance to see the making of a Hanna Barbera cartoon from that period. I think that any collector of memorabilia from sixties television, Hanna Barbera or even Ideal Toys (which feature prominently), will LOVE adding this wonderful film to their collection.
