As I switch recipes out from

I will retire them, (for your reference) here in the

#1 The Sweatbox Martini

1 and a half oz. of Bombay Sapphire Gin

Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth

3 Olives or "Tomolives" on a cocktail toothpick (color of choice)

1 Chilled Martini Glass

1 cup Cracked or Crushed Ice

While glass is chilling, Pour ice into shaker. Add Gin slowly, so as not to bruise. Seal top and shake vigorously until container is frosty and hand numbs. Note: Not sealing top can produce unsatisfactory results.

Place shaker and gin aside while you quickly splash a dash of the Vermouth into the chilled glass, swirling the glass with a twist of the wrist to coat the sides, then flick any excess into the bar sink or onto the floor if you don't care about those kinds of things. Place skewered olives in glass and strain the gin from the shaker over them until glass is full. Serve at once with cocktail napkin that sports a trendy cocktail graphic. Soon your guests will be saying.........

"HEY! THAT'SHA PRETTY SCHLICK TRICK!"

#2 Park Regency Cosmopolitan*

1 and a half oz. of Skyy Vodka*

1 oz. Cranberry Juice

1 oz. Cointreau

1 dash Fresh Lime Juice

Lime twist

1 Chilled Martini Glass

1 cup Cracked or Crushed Ice

While glass is chilling, Pour ice into shaker. Add Vodka, Fruit juices and Cointreau. Seal top and shake vigorously.

Strain contents of shaker into the chilled Martini glass, add the lime twist just prior to serving and enjoy, as we did repeatedly one afternoon when we were staying at the Park Regency Hotel on Park Avenue in Manhattan. It was a lazy "Sunday in New York" and we spent the later part of it nestled in the cozy, book-lined lounge, cradled in overstuffed leather wing chairs and wrapped in deep conversation. Those Cosmopolitans, (our first) were so delicious that, at the end of the day we had to pry the recipe out of the waiter, which he reluctantly scrawled on an order form, the very one I transcribed the recipe above from to share with you.

*I was told by Tom Pye, (a bartender we met in New Orleans a few years ago) that Skyy Vodka is a premium Vodka, made in America and he swears it will not burden one with a hangover if one was to overindulge. Still, if you're into that kind of thing, any premium vodka will suffice.

"Hiccup!"
